While they were moving tables from the Church of St. Mary, a van arrived with three people who had the task of decorating the space for a wedding that was supposed to be held on Sunday afternoon. As the president of the local community stated for alithianews.gr, the priest came to the church and in an elevated tone demanded that everyone leave the premises and remove everything they had placed in the courtyard. The president and the other villagers replied that this was not possible because a lot of effort had already been put into preparing for the celebration.
After that, the priest called the police, and a patrol soon arrived from the Limni Plastira Police Station. According to the same information, the priest demanded that the police arrest the president so that he could file a complaint against him, while the policeman tried to reconcile them.
